Charlton Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday - Darren Moore press conference LIVE

DM on first team coach

We’ve spoken to one or two individuals and hopefully we’ll have some news for you guys fairly soon.

DM on re-setting a culture

It’s hard work. And it will still continue to be work, nothing different.

There is no secret hidden formula and the club coming together. We have staff, fans, players coming together. We all want one thing for the football club and everybody has their part to play in it.

We just work and that’s what it is. Everybody has to play their part.

DM on being a title favourite

I can understand that. It’s Sheffield Wednesday.

I will always be respectful to the league and the opposition. I have the utmost respect for the other clubs in the division.

We’re in the mix, I understand it.

We saw a lot of what they’ve done last season. He’s added some wonderful players to the club.

The club has been in the rise since Nigel has been in there. They’re well organised and have some wonderful individual players.

It’s a great, exciting game for both clubs on the opening day of the season.

DM on further injuries

Everyone else is available. Just not Josh.

They’ve all come in and we’ll assess them all. We’ve still got a session to go today and we’ll move forward from there.

Mide unfortunately will miss tomorrow’s game. He picked up a muscle strain and we have to monitor him.

He’s had this strain and we’re monitoring him after the weekend. We’ll view him again early next week and hopefully he’ll have picked up.

I’m just not risking him any further.

The younger players we’re trying to give them loan opportunities to enhance their careers.

We have young players that deserve a loan and they need to be playing and getting in changing rooms where three points matter.

We have a responsibility to the younger players to give them the opportunity to play games.

DM on bring players in

I want to thank the supporters. They have played a huge part as each player wants to come in and play for them.

Credit to those supporters. Sheffield Wednesday is in the hearts and minds of not only players here, but all over the country. That’s part of it, that’s helped me in terms of the players I’ve managed to bring them in.

That’s a personal thanks from me to them.

At the moment we’re here, we’re not just signing players off the hook.

We had a volume of players that left and we’ve had to rebuild. We needed careful planning and get the right group of players in.

We have to get them in, get them settled and get the cohesion and blend going.

We’ll continue to work. I’m please with the aquisitions we’ve got in. We’ll only add if we feel it is right for us as a team this season. I don’t pursue players if I don’t think it’s right.

Theo is a wonderful player. I’m excited for him and thankful for Wolves.

He’s a top, top young talent and a Canadian international. His style of play is very different is terms of how he goes about the game. He gives us another dynamic and there are other positions I can use him in.

He’s got great control and beautiful balance. He’s a wonderful character.
