The year 2020 has certainly been a turbulent one for Sheffield Wednesday, and Chansiri took one last opportunity to have a chat to the press on New Year's Eve to discuss a number of matters regarding the club’s situation.

Wednesdayites want a number of questions answered on the back of one of the worst years in the club’s history, especially following the events of the past few months in which there has been firings and talk of late wages, while results on the field have been far from up to scratch.

One hot topic is who will come in to replace Pulis, a manager who the chairman has been heavily critical of, and he says that he cannot afford to make another mistake again this time around.

Speaking to the media this morning, Chansiri said that he wanted to hire somebody ‘as soon as possible’, saying, “It’s not easy, I need to bring the right one. With Pulis, I thought he was the right one, but I was totally wrong.

“This time I need to make sure, I can’t make any mistakes. After I sacked him, many people came forward.

“We’re still working, it may take a while but I need to make the right decision as soon as possible.

“I got many applications, even now they’re coming in. My people need to help me make a shortlist, and then I’ll start to interview a few before making a decision.

“This time we need to think more and more, because this time I don’t want to get a surprise again.

“I need to choose the one who fits our club, English or foreign it does not matter. It just has to be the best one, and as soon as possible.”

Wednesday face Derby County tomorrow evening as they seek to build on their victory over Middlesbrough earlier this week, with Neil Thompson set to be on the bench once again with Lee Bullen and Steve Haslam alongside him.
