Moore is doing an impressive job with Rovers at present, with last night’s win over Rochdale seeing them end the evening in fourth place and well on track for a Play-Off position as things stand.

But fans of the club will have been sweating over the last 24 hours or so as the 46-year-old entered the bookies’ list of candidates for the Wednesday job, and national media reported that he was potentially in the running.

It is understood, however, that there is nothing in the links between Moore and the Owls at this stage, and the man himself has spoken about the speculation after guiding his team to another victory in League One on Tuesday evening.

Rovers reporter, Liam Hoden, posted a video of him saying, “Honestly, I know a lot of people are speaking about it, but tonight my focus is on the game and Doncaster Rovers - and that’s what it’ll remain until the next one.

“I’m focusing on Saturday, and I can’t stop the speculation and everything else… For me, I’m just focusing on team matters here.”

So the hunt for Tony Pulis’ replacement drags on as Dejphon Chansiri makes sure that he does his due diligence in making his next appointment, and until something is confirmed then names like Moore and Vladimir Ivic and Paco Jemez will continue to be mentioned.
