The 20-year-old made his senior Sheffield Wednesday debut earlier this season with a very assured performance against Premier League opponents, Fulham, in the Carabao Cup, but his future is far from certain.

As previously reported by The Star, the Owls do have an option on the long-serving SWFC academy graduate that – if exercised – would see him remain with the club for another year, although that is yet to be triggered.

It’s thought that Wednesday have until May to exercise that one-year option before the youngster begins looking elsewhere, and indications are that they will eventually do so.

New manager, Moore, could have a part to play in that decision though, with the youngster currently training with the first team alongside a host of other talented young players.

Waldock has made the bench three times this season as he looks to take the next step in his career, and he’ll be itching to try and leave an impression on Moore over the international break now that he has a chance to show him up close what he’s capable of.

The midfield man has been with Wednesday since back in 2008, and will no doubt look to the likes of Osaze Urhoghide and Liam Shaw as inspiration given the roles that they’ve played in the first team this season to date.
