Because while away fans were not allowed to watch on at football fans across the country despite the return of supporters to certain grounds this weekend, a few genius Wednesdayites managed it.

The Holiday Inn overlooking Norwich’s Carrow Road gives a pretty decent view of the pitch and a group of hardy supporters have taken advantage, booking pitch-facing rooms to watch Tony Pulis’ side take on the title-chasing Canaries.

Supporters flew Owls banners out of the windows at the hotel to show their support and from time to time could be heard over the 2,000 returning Norwich fans.

Norwich, situated in Tier Two, are allowed fans in grounds while Hillsborough waits in hope of being lowered from Tier Three.
