The Owls head into tomorrow’s clash at second-bottom Wycombe still five adrift at the bottom of the table and hoping to freeze a run of three defeats on the spin.
And Monk, who has presided over a wholesale transformation of a squad he said was lacking in hunger, desire and character when he took over, is looking for a response to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Rotherham in midweek.

“The next three games, before this period of games is over, is going to be a big, big test on the character that is in that changing room. That’s for all of us.”
Wednesday follow the trip to Wycombe with back-to-back home games against playoff fancied Bournemouth and Millwall.
Monk made clear he believes a lack of form shown by his side is limited to their last two outings, defeats to Luton and Rotherham.

“In the last two games we’ve been well below par. The question is, can we as a group respond in the next three games? That’s the challenge we face.”
