It was the old cliche - a game of two halves - as the Owls largely laboured to give away the lead in the first half before putting some fizz into their game after the break. The Owls wrestled the game well and truly into their favour, punishing the increasingly nervous hosts. They had a few wee storms to weather, but should be highly commended for a character-full turnaround effort.
Michael Smith belted the winner from distance, a thunderchuffer of a strike that stuck one in the eye of the home supporters that had booed him in a Portsmouth shirt all those years ago. It came after his knockdown provided the assist for Josh Windass’ leveller.
Here are our player ratings from a thrilling evening at Fratton Park.

9. Josh Windass - 7
Got lost in the fog of a poor first half but ran hard and got his reward, expertly nipping in to bag the equaliser. Threaded things together nicely. | UGC

10. Anthony Musaba - 5
His pace and direct nature is always a threat to opposition teams, but like a few others he's inconsistent. Gave the ball away and just didn't look in it. Hauled at half-time. | UGC

11. Michael Smith - 8
Saw a great early chance just taken away from him by the poked foot of Andre Dozzell. Bashed folk about all night and got his reward with an assist for Windass - and then what about that thunderchuffer? Wowee. He rather enjoyed it against the home fans that booed him when he was a Pompey player. | UGC

12. Dominic Iorfa - 8
On in place of the injured Famewo early doors for his first minutes since the third game of the season. Deserves extra credit for that. Didn't always seem upto speed with things in possession early doors, understandably, but put on a really strong, physical showing in defence. | UGC
