9. Khanya Leshabela
Released by Leicester City, Leshabela has EFL experience on loan at Shrewsbury and Crewe in recent seasons and at the age of 20 represents a decent option. A South African young international, he can perform a handful of different roles in the middle of midfield.
10. Sam McClelland
A Northern Ireland youth international - and captain no less - McLelland has a full cap to his name in the middle of defence having spent his formative years at Chelsea. 31 appearances on loan at League Two Barrow last season showed his ability to play at senior level. He’s 21.
11. Mathaeus Roberts
Another youth international, this time with Wales, midfield man Roberts has seen his time at Arsenal come to an end. Technically savvy with an eye for the killer pass, he earned 12 goal contributions in his 27 appearances in the u18 Premier League last season.
12. Hayden Lindley
A former captain of Aston Villa’s u23s from time to time, Lindley is an energetic midfielder with no little quality on the ball. Remember that FA Cup game that Aston Villa played their youth team against Liverpool because of a spate of Covid positives? Lindley played. He’s an FA Youth Cup winner and has the pedigree of Manchester City youth.
