Sheffield United’s Rhys Norrington-Davies named in Wales Euro 2020 squad
Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies has been included in Wales’ Euro 2020 squad.
The 22-year-old, who made 38 appearances in the Championship last season during loan spells with Luton Town and Stoke City respectively, was named in former Blades defender Robert Page’s squad on Sunday evening.
Ethan Ampadu, who spent last season on loan at Sheffield United has also been selected.
Wales start their Euro 2020 campaign against Switzerland in Baku on June 12 before playing Turkey in the Azerbaijani capital four days later. They complete their Group A fixtures against Italy in Rome on June 20.
Norrington-Davies has made four appearances for his country, who reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016 in France five years ago.
The left-sided defender has never made a senior appearance in red and white, but has gained experience on loan at clubs including Rochdale, then in League One, and Barrow.
Prior to his departure, Chris Wilder viewed him as Jack O’Connell’s long-term successor.
