Blades v Burnley

Chance for the Blades

as Baldock floats a cross in from the right, it’s over the head of Jebbison in the middle and McGoldrick tries to meet it as he rushes in at the back stick but he can only divert it into the ground and then over the Burnley goal

Bit of a melee in the United box

sees, in no particular order, a shot blocked, a penalty appeal, another shot blocked, some more grappling and then the ball finally cleared

and it’s swung in from the left, Wood look to get his head on it but Basham deflects it behind for a corner which United clear, but not far enough - McNeil looks to curl one past Ramsdale and the United goalkeeper touches it over, to shouts of ‘England’s No.1’ from the Kop behind him

as Jebbison looks to get away before he’s outmuscled, the youngster then looks to get on the end of Enda Stevens’ cross but can’t quite rise high enough but it’s been a decent start from United here

Two poignant moments

as the Kop breaks into song honouring Chris Wilder early in the game, before a minute’s applause to pay tribute to the late, great Len Badger after his sad passing earlier this week

And we’re underway

after an emotional tribute to those who didn’t make it through the past year from Gary Sinclair, a similarly poignant first rendition of the Greasy Chip Butty song heard inside Bramall Lane for 15 months and both sets of players taking the knee - it’s been too long but another step towards normality we hope

Well played, Aaron Ramsdale

What a brilliant sight that is
