Sheffield United Transfer News: Man Utd manager's latest update on Blades target Jesse Lingard

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was once again asked about the future of Sheffield United target Jesse Lingard in his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night's clash with the Blades at Old Trafford.

United have enquired about the possibility of taking the England international on loan for the remainder of the season, recently making a presentation to the player and his representatives about the role he has been earmarked for on and off the pitch.

The transfer window has been open for some time now, without any new faces coming through the door at Bramall Lane, and shuts late next Monday evening.

Brandon Williams, Lingard's teammate at Old Trafford, has also been linked with a loan move to United in some outlets and Solskjær said of the pair earlier today: "They're still part of our club, part of the squad, training well.

"No deal has been struck for any players yet going out, there is still a little period left, of course.

"There have been many clubs interested in our players, so let's see what happens.

"For me, It's also important to take our wishes and our plans into consideration but the players, of course, are Manchester United people and players through and through."

Solskjær also confirmed that Marcus Rashford is likely to face the Blades tomorrow evening after the England striker suffered no serious damage to his knee during Sunday’s FA Cup win over Liverpool.

"Marcus is available," Solskjær said. "He trained this morning so available for selection.

"I think he tweaked his knee a little bit but he should be fine."
