The Blades are looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season after beating Wrexham on Friday night and are also looking to pile the misery on North End after their torrid start to the new season.
United will be without Liam Kitching as he serves a one-match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season on Friday but hope to welcome back Patrick Bamford after a shoulder issue.
Chris Wilder is also keeping his fingers crossed that Kalvin Phillips will be fit to keep his place after suffering an ankle injury against the Welshmen.
Here’s the side we’d pick to face North End - have we got it just about right or would you do anything differently?

5. Harrison Burrows
McCallum will be pushing him hard as well but Burrows is expected to continue on the left, offering an outlet going forward with real quality on that left foot. His delivery from wide areas could be useful at Deepdale | Sportimage

6. Kalvin Phillips
He caused United a scare on Friday when he went down for some treatment on his ankle but he carried on and the swelling has gone down this week. Assuming all recovers as it should, Phillips should retain his place in the middle of the park as he looks to build on his recent impressive displays | Sportimage

7. Sydie Peck
Peck has become an important part of United's midfield and should continue alongside Phillips. His energy, work rate and willingness to get stuck in give the Blades a different dimension in the centre, while he could have got on the scoresheet on Friday | Getty Images

8. Romelle Donovan
The Brentford man has done a lot to show that he should be starting in his last two performances and as long as he wasn’t withdrawn with any sort of fitness issue last time out, the smart money is surely on him keeping his place | Sportimage
