Sheffield United missed the chance to move off the bottom of the Premier League table despite a much-improved performance at Wolves today. The Blades acquitted themselves much better than last weekend's 5-0 hammering at home to Brighton and were left ruing a big missed chance by James McAtee in the first half.
Just moments later Wolves went up the other end and scored the only goal of the game, a header by Pablo Sarabia. The game also saw a bizarre on-field spat between teammates Jack Robinson and Vini Souza, which saw VAR take a look before deciding there was no case for a violent conduct punishment. Here's how we rated United's players at Molineux...
5. Jack Robinson 5
Was involved in one of the most bizarre moments of United's season so far as he and Souza squared up to each other after a Wolves chance, with both players raising their hands to the other and VAR getting involved to check if there was any violent conduct involved. Graham Scott decided there wasn't, but it was a concerning moment
6. Yasser Larouci 6
Given another chance on the left of defence after the injuries to Norrington-Davies and Lowe and was looking solid enough before a lapse of concentration cost United dear as he allowed Sarabia to drift in unmarked to meet the cross for Wolves' opener. Wasteful with a couple of good crossing opportunities, the second of which left him pounding the turf in frustration. But then defended excellently to snuff out a chance for Neto who was looking to race clear before making way for Osborn
7. Vini Souza 5
Took exception to Robinson's harsh words and had a bit of a nibble back at the centre-half which didn't look great and risked a bizarre VAR intervention. Later survived appeals for a Wolves penalty, which was never a handball in a month of Sundays - although who truly knows anymore? Broke up play well and looked to use it when he won it, before suffering cramp and making way late on
8. Ollie Norwood 6
Brought in to anchor midfield alongside Souza and offered some good defensive protection to the defenders, using his experience to get in the right place at the right time and cut out passes before spraying some lovely ones of his own. Couldn't get close enough to Ait-Nouri for the cross for the goal and struggled a couple of times with Wolves' quick transitions
