Sheffield United left it late to claim a huge three points from a frantic game on the south coast against struggling Portsmouth. The home side saw a number of chances go begging in the first half and were then made to pay when Andre Brooks touched home at the back post late on.
United earlier hit the post through Gus Hamer but Pompey will rue their own big moments that went amiss before Brooks came up with the decisive touch to get United back to winning ways at the first attempt after defeat on Monday to Boro.
Here’s how we rated the Blades at Fratton Park

9. Kalvin Phillips 6
Came in for his full debut for the Blades after a cameo off the bench against Boro on Monday night and it will have been a real whirlwind introduction to life back in the Championship after a few years in the more comfortable surroundings at Man City. To be fair to him he didn't seem to shy away from it and squared up to Adams after a coming together between the pair on the United byline but this wasn't a game for technicians. Such a body of work under his belt will be a positive though before he made way for Arblaster late on | SUFC

10. Gus Hamer 6
If United were going to get anything from this game you felt it was going to come from the boot of someone like Hamer and the closest they came was via their No.8, who strung together a nice bit of play with Burrows and went down the left but then elected to shoot from the narrowest of angles rather than square into the middle and it bounced off the post. The three in the middle made their feelings known too | UGC Photo: UGC

11. Tom Cannon 5
Back in from the start at the expense of O'Hare as Wilder returned to a two-up top shape against Pompey but he couldn't take advantage and was left largely trying to win flick-ons for Bamford from long punts forward and chasing lost causes, so it was little surprise to see him not reappear after half-time and be replaced by O'Hare | UGC Photo: UGC

12. Patrick Bamford 5
Went into the game looking for his third goal in as many games but it was one of those games where it just didn't happen, with a lack of real service no doubt contributing but he also couldn't manufacture anything of his own and made way for Campbell later in the game. His real moment came when he was played through by sub O'Hare but he looked to square to Brooks rather than have a go on his left foot and it was cut out | UGC Photo: UGC
