Goals from James McAtee, Ciaran Clark and Tommy Doyle secured victory for United, with Coventry seeing Viktor Gyokeres’ penalty saved by Wes Foderingham.
The City striker then pulled one back for his side and John Egan saw red after picking up his second yellow card, but the Blades recorded their third victory since the Championship season resumed to further consolidate their promotion push.
Here’s how we rated the Blades’ players...

9. Sander Berge 6
Below par for the most part. An injury scare in the first half, when he took a whack to his left foot, seemed to affect him and he could not establish his usual control on the game. There were occasional flashes of dangerous play as he dropped a shoulder and breezed past defenders and a superb cross led to United's third goal, but not one of his better days in a Blades shirt Photo: Andrew Yates

10. James McAtee 7.5
Looked bright early on, if sometimes frustrated when things didn't come off, and opened the scoring with a very nice, composed finish after great work from Ndiaye. Looks a much more composed and confident player than the one we saw dragged at half-time at Luton. Defending against him and Ndiaye on top form must be a nightmare Photo: Gary Oakley

11. Iliman Ndiaye 8
United's best player early on, both with and without the ball, he looked a threat whenever he picked it up and did superbly for the Blades' opener, drawing defenders out of position before picking the perfect pass for Ndiaye to finish. Grew as the game went on before he went down for some treatment late on and was withdrawn soon after Egan's red card Photo: Andrew Yates

12. Billy Sharp 7
Came so close to another landmark goal for the Blades as he headed Norwood's free-kick into the ground, up and against the crossbar. Worked tirelessly for the cause as ever before being withdrawn for Jebbison, to a standing ovation from the Bramall Lane crowd Photo: Andrew Yates
