Signed on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, Khadra is expected to make his debut for Paul Heckingbottom’s side when they contest their first match of the new season at Watford on Monday.

The German impressed during a similar spell with Blackburn Rovers last term, scoring four goals in 18 league starts and claiming three assists. Speaking ahead of next week’s visit to Vicarage Road, Khadra outlined a plan to pick Sharp’s brains in order to improve his finishing skills.

“There are good options here,” he said. “It is always good to play with people of a very high level.

“Someone like Billy Sharp as well, he will be a great help for me.”

Sharp, the most prolific marksman in the history of the competition since it was rebranded as the Championship, returned to full training earlier this week after missing the end of the previous campaign through injury.

Although Heckingbottom is unlikely to include him in his plans for the meeting with Rob Edwards’ side, Sharp will be hopeful of playing some part against Millwall when they visit South Yorkshire five days later. However his involvement will be subject to an assessment by United’s medical staff, including new head of performance Tom Little.

With Khadra viewed by many as a replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White, who excelled during his own loan spell at United before returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the 21-year-old said: “Morgan is a great player and we both like to take people on. But he is Morgan, I don’t feel pressure.”
