The Referee: From Nottinghamshire, Stuart Attwell will be taking charge of Sheffield United for the second time this season, having also overseen their 2-2 draw at Chelsea in August.

Opposition One to Watch: Capped 25 times by Paraguay, Miguel Almiron was Newcastle United’s stand-out performer during their 2-2 draw with Manchester City last weekend. Aged 25, he registered his first assist for the club since completing a £21m move from Atlanta United midway through last season and, after also proving effective in defence against City, will be looking to continue that run of firm at Bramall Lane. Born in Asuncion, he also played in Argentina before moving to Major League Soccer, scoring 22 times in 70 appearances for the Georgia based franchise.

Head to Head: This will be the first meeting between the two clubs since April 2010, with Newcastle United hoping to record their fourth straight win at Bramall Lane. Despite that run, Sheffield United still boast a better win percentage than the visitors, emerging victorious in nearly 40 per cent of their previous 123 contests. Twenty-nine of those have ended all-square, with the last draw coming 29 years ago when Jim Smith, a former Sheffield United player and one of Chris Wilder’s closest confidants during his spell as Oxford manager, was in charge of the visitors from the North-East. Eight of Newcastle United’s goals in the Premier League this term have been scored by defenders; the highest ratio in the competition.

. Lys Mousset, who scored Sheffield United’s goal during Sunday’s match at Wolverhampton Wanderers, has found the back of the net with all five of the shots he has registered on target for Chris Wilder’s side, who are unbeaten in seven, since completing a £10m transfer from AFC Bournemouth in July.
