Sheffield United fans had their Halloween weekend kicked off with a win as the Blades caused nightmares for Wrexham on Friday night.
25,814 fans were in attendance at Bramall Lane to see United triumph over the Reds.
United took the lead courtesy of Ben Brereton Diaz, marking his first goal of the season. The Blades were without their top goal-scorer Patrick Bamford, yet they seemed to have no trouble creating chances with Romelle Donovan shining once again. Although Unitedites only left with one goal to celebrate, the performance was praised by Blades manager Chris Wilder.
He said: “Everybody turned up and when we got deep into the game, the amount of effort and intensity they put into the game was good. We just ran out of gas a little bit and made the substitutions that we did.”
