Sheffield United: The moment Oli McBurnie proved how desperate he is to impress

The teenager became the youngest player to score on his full Premier League when he netted the only goal of the game during United’s top-flight encounter at Goodison Park two seasons ago.

With Paul Heckingbottom’s side now back in the Championship, Jebbison, Max Lowe and Sander Berge have all been linked with rival clubs during this summer’s transfer window.

Jebbison could make his latest start for United during tonight’s Carabao Cup tie at West Bromwich Albion and, speaking before the first round clash, he said: “I’m not aware of the Everton stuff, no.

“Nothing has been spoken about. Nothing at all. Not by me anyway.

“I’m just focusing on us, on United. I don’t focus on noise. I’m here and I’m just looking at scoring goals. I don’t bother with noise. That’s something I’ve never ever done and never will either.”

In order to do exactly that, Jebbison admitted he has been observing United captain Billy Sharp during training. Despite being 36-years-of-age, Sharp remains the most clinical finisher at Heckingbottom’s disposal.

“I don’t know he he notices but I do, I always keep an eye on him and what he does,” said Jebbison, revealing Rhian Brewster, Oli McBurnie and others are also sources of advice too. “I look at Billy and his movement, his hold up play - the way he tees-up his markers and then just spins off them.”

“He talks to me during games as well, which is great,” Jebbison added. “Against Millwall (on Saturday) I missed a chance and he just told me not to worry, to get my head up and concentrate on getting on the end of another one.

“He’s great with things like that and so are the rest of the lads as well. They all look to help me and they all want me to improve.”

James McAtee, signed on loan from Manchester City, is set to make his first appearance for United at The Hawthorns while Reda Khadra should start after watching the victory over Gary Rowett’s side from the bench.
