Sheffield United ended the year with a point at home to West Bromwich Albion this afternoon in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The Blades went ahead thanks to Andre Brooks’ smart finish but conceded right on the stroke of half-time to Karlan Grant’s equaliser.
Michael Cooper made some smart saves at one end while United created a golden chance to win it but Rhian Brewster couldn’t get his effort on target at the back post when it seemed easier to score. Here’s how we rated United’s players on the day...

9. Callum O'Hare 7
Some nice moments of play, including the lovely flick for Brooks' goal and a cheeky nutmeg not long after before a lack of communication with Moore saw him come short and O'Hare go in behind with the pass, leading to frustration all round. Had appeals for a penalty turned down when he got onto the end of Brooks' superb pass and was barged over by Diakite, but ref Attwell saw it as a fair shoulder-barge when 26,000 or so home fans vociferously disagreed. 10. Gus Hamer 5
Started on the left, ended in the middle but couldn't really make the impact United would have hoped from him in either position. Booked early on for a cheap foul and risked a second late on by bringing down his man right in front of the dugouts. 11. Kieffer Moore 5
Led the line valiantly enough against an old-school centre-half in Bartley but not really in the game either. Had a great chance to either get the ball out of his feet and hit the target or play in Burrows in acres of space to his left, but did neither and Davies' shot eventually flew wide Photo: Dan Istitene

12. Notable subs: Rhian Brewster 4
Came on for Peck and had a golden chance to win it with five minutes to go but he put his effort over the bar at the back post when it looked easier to score. Also used: McCallum Photo: Simon Bellis
