Sheffield United ended the year with a point at home to West Bromwich Albion this afternoon in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The Blades went ahead thanks to Andre Brooks’ smart finish but conceded right on the stroke of half-time to Karlan Grant’s equaliser.
Michael Cooper made some smart saves at one end while United created a golden chance to win it but Rhian Brewster couldn’t get his effort on target at the back post when it seemed easier to score. Here’s how we rated United’s players on the day...

5. Harrison Burrows 6
Linked up nicely down the left hand side a couple of times and one low cross in particular sparked havoc before it was hurriedly cleared. Got in some great positions at times but United just couldn't get the ball across to him Photo: Cameron Smith

6. Tom Davies 5
A tough test for the former Everton man in a frenetic midfield as he was given no time on the ball whatsoever and forced into some real physical work as well. Had a chance with an acrobatic overhead kick from close range that dropped just wide of the WBA goal Photo: Richard Sellers

7. Sydie Peck 6
The youngster routinely risked the ball with some good passing to get United up the pitch but he and Davies couldn't establish enough control in the middle of the park against the Baggies' midfielders and were a little open at times. Replaced later on by Brewster as Hamer dropped back | PA

8. Andre Brooks 8
Back in the side on the right wing with Rak-Sakyi still absent and began brightly, picking out Moore with a good early cross that the striker couldn't get enough on and it flashed across goal rather than into the back of it. Then made the breakthrough with a lovely finish after a good flick from O'Hare and then reignited the game with a lovely move to beat two defenders and then thread O'Hare through on goal. Booked in the second half after overrunning the ball slightly and clattering into Molumby, but could and should have had an assist when more good work saw hum square for Brewster who missed the target. Made way late on to a deserved standing ovation | Sportimage
