It was a summer of real change at Bramall Lane following last season’s brutal experience in the Premier League, with Sheffield United waving goodbye to dozens of players in a bid to make an instant return to the top flight. Amongst those to depart were club legends and relatively unknown names; loanees who made a mark and others who barely registered with Blades.
The freshen-up has certainly done the trick, with United heading into the international break joint top of the Championship and with no other club having won more games or points so far this season. But what happened to those who moved elsewhere in the summer? We had a look at 31 players who are now plying their trade elsewhere to see how they are getting on - with drubbings, unwanted records and a search for a new club all featuring in our gallery...

9. Auston Trusty
Another deadline-day departure, Trusty joined Scottish giants Celtic in the summer and has had an up-and-down time of it in Glasgow, including a 7-1 hammering in the Champions League at the hands of Borussia Dortmund. 10. Jayden Bogle
Bogle left Bramall Lane for rivals Leeds and will probably face a mixed reception, at best, from Unitedites when they travel to Elland Road after the international break. Another who struggled to acclimatise after moving and was criticised by sections of his new supporters but is settling into being Leeds’ first-choice right-back, scoring his second goal in Leeds colours in the win over QPR before the break | Getty Images

11. Connor Barrett
The centre-half, a regular in United’s U21 squad, was released in the summer and has since joined neighbours Barnsley to supplement their U21 squad | Sportimage

12. Daniel Jebbison
The Blades contract rebel eventually turned down the offer of a new deal to remain at Bramall Lane and moved on in the summer, moving to Premier League side Bournemouth. He was then loaned to Watford – making his debut in a fiery clash at, ironically, Bramall Lane – before his remarkable gaffe against Norwich was dubbed “the miss of the season."
