Blades v Coventry LIVE

A bit of fan reaction to that Blades line up

Robin Olsen doesn’t make it

after picking up an injury on international duty, so this man comes in

Surely that’s a 3-5-2?

Basham, Egan and Davies on the teamsheet and unless Basham is in midfield, that surely points to a return to a back three - Hourihane and Fleck in midfield with Gibbs-White behind Sharp and Ndiaye? That would be my bet but we’ll see for sure just after 12.30, I guess...

Here’s how City line up this afternoon

with a return to Bramall Lane for Simon Moore

FOUR changes for the Blades

as Foderingham, Hourihane, Davies and Ndiaye return to the starting line up to face Coventry this afternoon

Billy Sharp outlines desire to earn new Sheffield United contract

Billy Sharp has reiterated his desire to earn a new Sheffield United contract, admitting that he would sign a deal tomorrow if it was offered and that he wants to end his playing career at his boyhood club.

The striker, in his 36th year, is the Blades’ top scorer this season but is approaching the expiry of the initial contract extension he signed while the Blades were still in the Premier League.

Like most of his Bramall Lane teammates, Sharp’s contract contains an option in the club’s favour to extend it by a year – and the Sheffield-born striker will do all he can to earn it.

Boss: I can still be a success here

and the Blades are back at Bramall Lane looking to bounce back from their defeat at Blackburn last time out - they’ve had time to stew on it over the international break and reflect on what went wrong at Ewood Park, so time will tell if they can put things right against high-flying City on their own patch
