Sheffield United bowed out of the Carabao Cup in the second round after a much-changed side lost on penalties to Lincoln City.
After a drab 90 minutes with little in the way of real goalsciring opportunities for either side, the match was decided on spot kicks.
Youngster Louie Marsh and Benie Traore both missed before skipper John Egan skied the decisive penalty to cause a cup shock at Bramall Lane, with the League One side going through in front of their very vocal support.
Even at this stage of the season there's a decent argument for Egan to have been rested for this one given the amount of football he has played over the past year or so. Nevertheless there he was marshalling the backline as usual without really breaking a sweat. Should have opened the scoring with a header from a Norwood free kick. A decent night's work on his Blades debut. Didn't get forward much but fed Larouci well to pick up that aspect. Never really troubled too much and laregely strolled through the match Photo: SportImage
Still doesn;t look like he's quite got to grips with the pace of the English game and seems to want more time on the ball than he's going to get. Made a few good runs down the left and lined up well at times with Brooks who kept veering towards that side. Hopefully a bit of a confidence-builder after Sunday Photo: Andrew Yates
A good run-out for the youngster who was quite heavily involved. Sometimes tried a little too hard to make something happen but was solid in the middle, always wanted the ball, worked hard and provided the odd very intelligent pass. Came off at half time for Louie Marsh Photo: Andrew Yates
