Still only 17 years of age, Jebbison earned a start after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace last weekend and grasped his opportunity with both hands, tapping home with a poacher’s finish after a good run and cross from defender Jack Robinson. It would ultimately lead to the points going to United.

“I’m just thankful for the opportunity given to me by the club,” Jebbison said.

“I gave it my all and I’m thankful for the opportunity given to me.

“It’s crazy. I can’t describe the feeling but it’s amazing. I knew I was playing yesterday and I couldn’t stop smiling, I couldn’t sleep and I just tried to make the most of it.

“It was good to get the three points, we’ve been struggling a bit but the boys are buzzing with the win.”
