In scenes that shocked the footballing world during his country’s first game of Euro 2020, the Inter Milan forward collapsed on the pitch against Finland and was given CPR on the field, while his teammates formed a protective barrier around their teammate in an attempt to protect his privacy.
Denmark’s team doctor Morten Boesen confirmed Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and that “he was gone” prior to being resuscitated. He was taken to hospital, where his condition was stabilised, and he released a short statement this morning in which he revealed he feels better now and thanked those who helped save his life.

Hide AdDenmark’s game against Finland was incredibly continued later that evening, with Finland winning 1-0.
And, ahead of Wales’ game with Turkey on Wednesday, Ampadu – who spent last season on loan at Bramall Lane from Chelsea – said of Eriksen: There’s a bit more positive news now, which is good, and he has the support of everyone.
“You saw that through social media and the way his teammates were surrounding him and trying to make the best of the situation.
“It showed football is together and he has the support of everyone.”

Hide AdBoesen added: "How close were we? I don't know. We got him back after one defib, so that's quite fast.
"We don't have any explanation why it happened."
