Sheffield United play their penultimate friendly of a truncated pre-season friendly tonight when they make the short trip to the Keepmoat Stadium to face Doncaster Rovers.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s men then face Norwich City on Saturday – or are scheduled to, anyway, after City returned a number of positive Covid-19 tests of their own this week, forcing the cancellation of their pre-season clash with Coventry City – before the season gets underway for good the weekend after, at home to Birmingham City.

United will be backed by over 3,000 fans tonight, their largest and indeed only away following since before the pandemic began.

Doncaster Rovers v Blades LIVE

Almost a fluke third

for the Blades as Mousset’s pass intended for Burke spins in the direction of Fleck, with no defenders around - but he can’t get there ahead of Jones, who was only marginally more committed to getting hold of the ball

Could be an important goal for the Blades, that

Mousset looked a threat even before he made it 2-0, and that could be an important confidence-booster ahead of a big season...

and it’s Mousset who gets it, smashing home after Osborn’s shot was blocked by a defender. It came from a driving run from Berge, who ghosted past a couple of men in the box and smashed a cross across the box - Osborn couldn’t turn it home but Mousset certainly could for 2-0

Robinson is penalised

for winning the header against Bogle, ref Jon Moss believing he jumped too soon over the Donny striker - free-kick to the hosts, which Smith hits straight at Fleck in the one-man wall

Celebration time for the Blades

and it’s Oli Burke who gets it, with possibly the easiest goal of his career - a nightmare moment for Donny keeper Jones as he plays across his own goal looking for a defender, doesn’t get enough on it and Burke had the simple task of steering it home for 1-0

McGoldrick looks to create a yard of space

with a neat turn before looking to find Mousset in the middle, but his cross is cut out by home skipper Tom Anderson

Ramsdale’s first save

is a comfortable one as Hiwula looks to shoot through Baldock’s legs, Ramsdale read it and made the save comfortably

from Fleck prevents Trialist Three pulling the trigger from the edge of the box after Bogle found himself in space at the byline, he looked to cut it back but Fleck got just about enough on it
