Did Sheffield United's brilliant season ticket video drop a hint about these iconic Blades shirts going on sale?

Sheffield United today opened up season ticket renewals for their supporters, promoting it with a superb promotional video featuring fans following the Blades in lockdown with the tagline: ‘No place like home’.

But eagle-eyed Blades also spotted something else in the video – two of the actors sporting retro United shirts from days gone by.

Nothing unusual there, considering the iconic yellow away shirt from 1990 and the ‘laces’ home shirt from that decade are two of the most popular shirts in recent history.

But the shirts worn in the clip don’t look like vintage originals, with no Umbro branding on the right chest, and supporter versions of the luminous away shirt didn’t feature the iconic Laver branding either.

So, with a number of other products that are available from the club shop also featuring in the video including mugs and even Blades-branded tins of sweets, it has led some Blades to speculate whether reproductions of the iconic shirts may soon be available to buy directly from the club.

Sheffield United s reported next away kit is 'leaked' online - will the Blades be wearing this shirt in 2021/22?

It’s something that United haven’t tended to do in recent years, even when there has been a rise in popularity of re-made shirts from unofficial third party sellers.

Could United be about to expand their offering of popular retro shirts? Would you buy one? Which iconic shirts from the past would you like to see on offer?

And the question we’re all asking… when will the yellow and brown away kit from the early 80s be available? Just me, then?
