Sheffield United missed the chance to make a big statement in their promotion ambitions this afternoon as they lost to Championship leaders Bournemouth on the coast.

The Blades led through Morgan Gibbs-White, but the Cherries hit back with two quickfire goals to take the points. Here’s how the game unfolded...

Bournemouth v Sheffield United LIVE

Blades break at speed

as Stevens’ good ball finds Fleck’s good run, Osborn beats his man for pace down the left and crosses for Sharp, it goes over the bar as he and the defender slide in but the flag was up for offside anyway

Stevens cuts it out

after two good passes from the hosts cut the Blades open, Anthony on the left crosses and it goes all the way across United’s goal before Stevens gets to it at the back post and cuts out the danger

HUGE chance for the Cherries

as Robin Olsen is caught in possession under pressure from Solanke, his poor pass out only goes as far as Billing who looks to sidefoot it home but doesn’t connect properly and Olsen makes the save - he’ll be mighty relieved, you’d imagine

Poor touch from Anthony

lets the Blades off the hook as a good ball over the top caught out Baldock, Anthony looked to take advantage but he couldn’t get the ball under control and it skids out for a Blades throw

as Fleck’s pass finds Ndiaye in space down the left, he looks to square it for Gibbs-White but it’s cut out by a combination of home defenders and goes out for a corner - Norwood takes it short and lofts it to the back post, but it’s headed away

as Baldock gets across to block Anthony’s attempted cross, he takes it short to Christie, who plays it back and Lerma beats Fleck to the header at the back post, but Olsen holds on to it comfortably

Fleck goes into the book

for taking down Christie as he looked to race clear, taking one from the team - Billing strikes the resulting free-kick very well and Olsen does well to turn it behind

Davies watches the ball behind

as Christie looks to break down the right hand side, at the other end a lovely turn from Gibbs-White threatens to open up a bit of space but Baldock is flagged offside as he looks to get on the end of the on-loan man’s pass in behind

Early foray forward

for Ben Osborn down the left, his cross is fizzed in at head height and Travers puts it nervously behind for a corner, it’s played to Fleck on the edge of the area and his cross/shot is cut out by the Bournemouth defence
