John Lundstram was sent off in the first half after a strong challenge on Joel Veltman but it was the Blades who took the lead through substitute Jayden Bogle in his Premier League debut.
It looked as through United would hold out for a win and they could have stretched their lead only for the otherwose impressive Oliver Burke to fire off target, however Danny Welbeck equalised for the hosts in the 87th minute.

Hide AdBrighton hit the post and George Baldock cleared the danger in the final minute of a dramatic encounter and one in which Blades fans saw plenty of fight and character.
@geoffforcrookes posted: “Basham immense, McGoldrick provides vital skill and vision, Burke's speed upsets teams even if he squanders chances, and Wilder right to stick with Ramsdale. Last season a point away from home with 10 men would have been fine.”
@a_appletree4 said: “Proud after that performance. That’s all we ask blades, the lads gave absolutely everything! Could have won it, could have lost - outstanding clearance from Baldock! On to Everton now”
@ArtyBianco added: “Thought Bogle was unbelievably good, Burke with a goal behind him has ridiculous potential, Bash is a machine... Amps got though a shift, rest I thought did really well considering. Needed 3 but everyone takes 1 point once we’ve gone down to 10”

@phildmoore posted: “Burke and bogle changed the game today! Big call to hook Fleck so early but worked and nearly got all 3 points. Battled till the end with 10 men. MUCH more blades like.”
And @xgigglebubblex said: “Absolutely fantastic today blades. Onwards and upwards now. Gutted we did not take the 3points we deserved it but glad we got a point with 10 men. Lunny tackle never a red and says it all when same ref sent Egan off. Come on blades!!”
