5. Roger Nilsen, Norway
Norwegian international left-back Nilsen signed for Dave Bassett's United in November 1993 for a fee of £500,000 from Viking FK. He became a popular figure at Bramall Lane and made 166 appearances for the Blades before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 1999. He retired as a player in 2003. Photo: Steve Parkin
Borbokis was signed by Nigel Spackman in the 1997/98 season and is regarded by many fans as one of the most technically gifted players to have pulled on the United shirt.

The pacey Ndlovu enjoyed a fruitful time at United, where he was affectionately known as 'Nuddy'. He was part of the Blades squad led by Neil Warnock which progressed to the semi-finals of the FA and League cups in 2002/03 as well as the Championship play-off final later that season.
