The Championship returns this weekend with both Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday in action. Chris Wilder’s Blades kick-off their final eight-game run at home to in-form Coventry City while Wednesday are due at Cardiff City on Saturday - and both still have plenty to play for.
United’s automatic promotion hopes are very much alive following their 1-0 Steel City derby win almost a fortnight ago, but only two points separate them and league leaders Leeds United from Burnley in third. Wednesday’s play-off ambitions look to have disappeared but they can still earn a top-10 finish, which would present a significant improvement on the previous campaign’s relegation dogfight.
Battles at both ends of the table are expected to go down to the wire again and so with only eight games left, The Star has called on Artificial intelligence tool Grok to predict what the final table will look like, with verdicts given on the promotion race, play-off battle and survival scrap. Take a look below to see where they expect United and Wednesday to finish.
