Phoenix were guilty of giving too many penalties away in the first half and they were punished with four being converted.

But they did score the only try of the half with centre Dave Hankinson crashing over and Jamie Lennard converting.

After the break, Phoenix camped out in Morley’s half and scored on 45 minutes through Chris Planchant.

Lennard converted and added a drop goal and a penalty in the latter stages to seal a 20-15 win.

Wheatley Hills won 22-7 win against Guisborough with all the scoring coming in the first half.

Sam Kerry crashed over to break the deadlock and Owen Gilvray added the extras.

Guisborough quickly replied with a converted try of their own but Hills were soon back in the lead and scored further tries from Tom Buckenham, Andrew Penno and James Marks.
