This retro photo gallery shows some of the beloved institutions where the beer flowed and the beats echoed back then.
From the Roxy and the Republic to the Wapentake and Stone House, it features many of Sheffield’s most popular clubs, pubs and bars from that era.
Clubbers are seen giving it their all on the dancefloor, and the landlords, landladies and their staff are pictured behind the bar at these much-loved institutions.
The nostalgic pictures include pubgoers taking part in traditional ‘cakin’ neet’ celebrations, a VIP guest opening a new nightclub complex and the unique interior of a lost Sheffield watering hole which was like no other.
Were you a regular at any of these pubs, clubs and bars in the 80s or 90s, and do these photos bring back happy memories for you of great nights out back then?
