Review: Birdfy Feeder Bamboo Mini with camera
The perfect sustainable and stylish companion for those who are interested in the wildlife in their garden.
I am either out and about or working in my home office so very rarely get to see the birds in my garden, so the Birdfy Feeder with a camera was a perfect for me.
Birdfy has already made a name for itself with AI-powered bird feeders and nest cameras. The HD camera produces great footage suitable for sharing online or with friends and family, and having the AI bird recognition tell you which feathered friend has landed is a great touch.
Then, there is the added benefit of using it as an outdoor security camera, much like any Ring or Eufy outdoor camera. It is the most stylish and sustainable feeder on the market. With no need for batteries this feeder comes with its own solar panel.
My first visitor was about 5 days after I had installed the feeder and to my surprise it was a robin. After only seeing wood pigeons in my garden I was thrilled to have this little bird come and visit it.
The AI feature recognises over 6000 birds but this one was quite easy for me to name and with the ‘birds here’ notification I could see it land in real time.
Set up was super easy. Using the QR code included in the packaging, I used my phone to download the Birdfy app. After quickly creating an account, I began pairing the camera. A few buttons and scanning the QR code from the camera itself I heard ‘connection successful’ and I was ready to go.
Overall, the Birdfy Feeder Bamboo Mini is an appealing option for wildlife fans who want a ready-made setup rather than building their own camera system. It makes observing garden birds more accessible, and the AI features add an extra layer for anyone keen to learn more about the wildlife around them.
