Simba says its new HeatRelease mattress technology draws away excess body heat within 20 minutes and can keep sleepers up to 4.4°C cooler.

A new mattress technology designed to reduce heat around the body could be of interest to women whose sleep is disrupted by menopause hot flushes and night sweats.

Simba has launched HeatRelease, a cooling innovation exclusive to the brand in the UK. It is included as standard with the Hybrid Ultra mattress and can be added as an upgrade to the Hybrid Luxe and Hybrid Pro.

The system uses precision graphite cooling strips, graphite-infused Simbatex foam and Simba's breathable spring architecture to draw excess heat away from the sleeper.

Simba says HeatRelease begins drawing away excess heat within 20 minutes, can keep sleepers up to 4.4°C cooler and is designed to maintain an ideal sleep temperature for up to eight hours.

The technology cannot prevent hot flushes, and experiences of menopause vary. However, a mattress which retains less heat may help create a more comfortable sleeping environment when overheating makes it difficult to settle or stay asleep.

Night-time hot flushes can lead to sleepers waking, removing layers, changing position and attempting to cool down before returning to sleep. When this happens repeatedly, it can cause further disruption during the night.

The flagship Hybrid Ultra features Simba's patented Aerocoil microsprings, two layers of graphite-infused Simbatex foam, a PureLift™ comfort layer, Stratos cool-touch cover, FusionCool layer and SupportCore spring system.

Hybrid Ultra prices start at £1,749 for a Single and rise to £2,999 for a Super King.

Simba's Hybrid Luxe has a more plush feel, combining Aerocoil microsprings and graphite-infused Simbatex foam with a breathable bamboo-infused wool layer and Steel SupportCore springs. With the optional HeatRelease upgrade, prices start from £1,998 for a Double.

The Hybrid Pro also uses Aerocoil spring technology and graphite-infused Simbatex foam. Prices with the HeatRelease upgrade start from £1,498 for a Double.

Simba CEO Steve Reid says cooling is now one of the biggest priorities in sleep innovation, with HeatRelease bringing thermal engineering together with the company's existing mattress technology.

Customers considering the mattresses can use Simba's 200-night trial. Delivery charges may apply.
