I know exactly what my son wants for Christmas and the new Yoto Player is top of his list

The new Yoto Player is available to pre-order, while the new Gruffalo Granny card can be bought now.
There’s one thing already sitting firmly at the top of my son’s Christmas list this year and it’s something he’s already had plenty of use out of: a Yoto Player. The new 4th Gen Yoto Player has just been announced and, at £119.99, it’s definitely not the cheapest thing on his list, but it’s one I know would actually get used every day.
My son has had his Yoto for years and it has become part of his bedtime routine. It’s the sort of thing I’m much happier putting on than handing him an iPad, particularly when he wants something to listen to before going to sleep. The new 4th Gen Player is designed around that same screen-free idea, but with a few upgrades that make it even more suited to everyday family life.
The new Yoto Player is £119.99 and is currently available to pre-order (dispatched October 15), with the new generation designed to be used throughout the day rather than just as a bedtime gadget. Kids can pop in a Yoto Card to start listening, while the green button gives them another simple way to control their player independently.

And there are plenty of reasons I think it would earn its place in our house again. There are stories and music for the daytime, Yoto Daily in the morning and sleep sounds for bedtime, while the built-in night light adds another useful touch for children who like a little glow when they’re settling down.
One of the first cards I’d be adding to his Christmas pile is the new Gruffalo Granny card, which is available now. Julia Donaldson’s stories have been a big part of childhood for so many families and this feels like exactly the sort of card that would get played again and again, whether it’s during a quiet afternoon or as part of the bedtime routine.
What I like most about Yoto is that it doesn’t feel like another toy that needs a screen to make it interesting. My son can choose what he wants to listen to himself, and there’s something quite nice about him being able to put a card in and get started without needing me to set anything up.
At £119.99, I’d definitely think about the cost before buying one, particularly if your child already has an older Yoto Player. But if you’re looking for a bigger Christmas present that can be used throughout the year, rather than something that will be forgotten by January, the new 4th Gen Player has caught my attention.

☀️ Summer may be fading, but this deal is scorching. The TOG24 Jacinda Women’s Supersoft Jersey Playsuit has plummeted from £50 to just £8, saving shoppers £42 in a huge 84% reduction.
💗 Made mainly from soft viscose and cotton, the bright pink playsuit features an elasticated drawstring waist, back-button fastening and two handy hip pockets. It’s an easy throw-on outfit for holidays, warm weekends or getting next summer’s wardrobe sorted ludicrously early.
⚠️ The catch? Only selected sizes are still available, and an £8 clearance price is unlikely to help them hang around. Check whether your size has survived here.
