Amazon has unveiled its redesigned 2026 Kindle range, but you don’t necessarily have to wait for the new models as several current Kindle devices are now available with discounts ahead of Prime Big Deal Days.

Amazon has just unveiled its new Kindle range for 2026, and while the new models are grabbing attention thanks to the slimmer designs and new features, some of the current Kindle range is now on sale.

Amazon has completely redesigned its Kindle family, with the new Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft all getting thinner, lighter designs and flush-front displays. The new range, which is due to be released next month, also brings edge-to-edge colour across the family, while Amazon is introducing new colours including Ube, Alpine Sky, Seaglass Green and Graphite.

The new standard Kindle has been designed to fit inside your bag or even your coat pocket with ease. Amazon says its new 6-inch Kindle is its most pocket-sized Kindle yet, with 16GB of storage, up to six weeks of battery life and book-opening speeds that are 30% faster than the previous release.

There’s also a new 32GB version with an aluminium back, giving the compact Kindle a more premium finish. It comes in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green, while the standard version gets the new Ube colour among its options.

Then there’s the Kindle Paperwhite, which has also had a rethink. The new model is thinner and lighter, while Amazon says its redesigned display is designed to deliver crisp text with strong contrast and clarity. It’s the sort of upgrade that should appeal if your Kindle is something you use every single day rather than just taking on holiday.

For colour fans, the new Kindle Colorsoft is perhaps the most eye-catching addition. Amazon says its latest colour display uses a redesigned display construction to create a paper-like colour experience while maintaining detail in both colour and black-and-white content.

There’s even a new way to turn pages without touching the screen. Amazon has introduced a Bluetooth page-turn remote, alongside a magnetic case with integrated page-turn buttons. So, if you’re the sort of person who likes to read while tucked under a blanket, this could be a surprisingly useful addition.

But, if you don’t necessarily need the latest model, we have good news. The current Kindle range is now seeing some discounts, with deals already appearing on models including the Kindle Colorsoft and Paperwhite ahead of Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon has confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days will take place on October 6 and 7.

That means there are potentially two routes to take if you’ve had a Kindle on your wishlist.

You can wait for the new 2026 models to become available and go for the latest design, or you can take advantage of the current discounts and pick up an existing Kindle for less.

Here are the deals to be had right now on current Kindles:

Or you can pre-order the 2026 Kindles, which will be released on November 11, here:

In the meantime, for anyone who simply wants a brilliant e-reader without necessarily needing the newest design, those existing models could be particularly worth a look while the discounts are live. The only thing to bear in mind is that Kindle prices and availability can change quickly, particularly with Prime Big Deal Days just around the corner, so it’s worth checking the latest listing before buying.

  • Amazon Prime members get free delivery on eligible items. Non-Prime customers may pay delivery charges depending on the order.
