Young man tragically dies in motorcycle crash on Sheffield street

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and help with an investigation into a crash which caused the death of a motorcyclist.

Around 12.30pm on Wednesday May 13, a motorcycle was in collision with a black VW Sharan at the junction of Herries Drive and Piper Road, Sheffield.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 28-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he sadly died.

The driver of the VW, a 70 year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or anyone who witnessed either vehicle prior to the collision, to come forward. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage or CCTV.

It is believed that a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra stopped at the scene following the collision. Officers are keen to speak to the occupants.
