She was rescued by 11.15am by firefighters using a rope system.

This involved a tripod, which was placed over the hole in the floor of the house and the woman was pulled up to safety on a board attached to a rope which was lowered down.

It is understood that the floor gave way beneath her, although SYFR say they do not yet know how or why that happened.

Crews from Elm Lane and Parkway were in attendance, supported by a team from West Yorkshire.

The incident is now over and the emergency services have left the scene.

One neighbour said they were ‘shocked’ that somebody had fallen through the floor of one of the houses.

The incident led to the closure of the road because of all the emergency services at the scene.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service has also been contacted by The Star for a comment.
