Parts of the city woke up to a covering of snow this morning, with heavy showers reported in Beauchief this morning and a dusting in other areas, including Ecclesall.

Snow showers also fell in nearby Dronfield Woodhouse.

The Met Officer is warning of the possibility of further snow showers this afternoon but a dry and clear night during which temperatures will plummet to -3 and a widespread frost will develop.

Tomorrow is also set to be another cold day, with a greater chance of snow and temporary accumulations over high ground.

The outlook for Wednesday to Friday is less cold and windy on Wednesday but cloudier, with some rain overnight.

It will be windy and somewhat milder on Thursday, with rain at times and colder again on Friday, with further wintry showers.

Just a few days ago, Sheffield basked in warm sunshine.
