Police search car in Sheffield and find 'enough drugs to fuel a small festival'

Police in Sheffield say they uncovered enough drugs to ‘fuel a small festival’ when they searched a car.

Officers today told how they had stopped a car in Burngreave which was believed to be used in ‘major drug supply throughout Sheffield’.

After what they called ‘the world’s shortest foot pursuit’, they searched the vehicle and found ‘a treasure trove containing enough illegal drugs to fuel a small festival’.

“With drugs such as cocaine, heroin, MDMA, crack cocaine, LSD, ecstasy and cannabis seized from the vehicle, needless to say the male was subsequently arrested for possession of controlled substances with the intent to supply and could be looking at some lengthy prison time,” they added.

Police yesterday told how they had found a man hiding in a wall cavity as they busted a cannabis farm in Crookes.

Earlier this week, a drug dealer was jailed after being caught with 90 wraps of cocaine.
