Photos show Sheffield blanketed in snow as drivers struggle in 'treacherous' conditions

Sheffield’s countryside looks stunning after getting its first dusting of snow this winter, as these photos show.

But the snow flurries have also created ‘treacherous’ conditions on roads in and around the city.

The A57 Snake Pass was closed this afternoon, while drivers were warned to avoid the A628 Woodhead Pass, and the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow which is in place until 9pm today, Friday, December 4.
