The Cut the Strings campaign, which is running until New Year’s Eve, is to raise awareness of the different types of domestic abuse and encourage people to report incidents.

In the video, a tied up cartoon woman says: "I can't remember what it was like to be me. To do normal things- to see my friends, to stay for a drink after work, to wear what I want, to want to come home, to feel happy- not to always feel afraid."

One of the key elements of domestic abuse the police hope to raise awareness about is that abuse is not always physical.
