VIDEO: Sheffield Wednesday needed Callum McManaman against Burton Albion, admits Carlos Carvalhal
The Owls struggled to break down the Brewers' defence for the majority of the game and although the head coach was happy with the performance, if not the result, he described not having the injured McManaman available as like 'a stone in my shoe'.

Hide AdOn the nagging annoyance of not having the on-loan winger to come off the bench in such a tight game, Carvalhal said: "If I have a stone in my show, it is that it was a game that we really missed a player like McManaman but unfortunately he was injured.
"Of all the game we played so far, this is the game that we really needed a player like him but he was injured."
He added: "After the game (against Norwich on Saturday) he felt a little pain in the leg, not a specific place but the leg. It is not too serious but he was not ready to play."

Sam Hutchinson, who came off early against Norwich City was still recovering from a knee complaint and Carvalhal's medical team will continue to assess the injury before Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.
"I spoke with Sam (on Monday and Tuesday)," added Carvalhal. "He felt a big pain and can't play. He is better but he wasn't available to play (against Burton) - for Saturday let's see. He has a few days, we'll see."

Hide AdRoss Wallace, who opened the scoring against Burton, came off seven minutes into the second half with Carvalhal stating that the winger had picked up a slight knock in the build-up, which was became aggravated.
He said: "He played with a little pain, he had a bruise before the game and was training with some problems but he received a kick in the second half and had to come off.
"Absolutely (it was disappointing). He is a player for these kinds of games, he is very important."
