Police warning to avoid area as officers respond to incident on M1 north of Sheffield tonight

Drivers are being advised to avoid the M1 northbound between junctions 37 and 38 tonight as police attend an incident.

South Yorkshire Police officers are urging motorists to find an alternative route and avoid the area tonight.

They tweeted this evening: “Police are responding to an incident on the M1 North. Closures are in place between junctions 37 and 38.

Junction 37 is for Barnsley and Junction 38 is for Wakefield.
