A child has been taken to hospital following a crash on a Sheffield road this afternoon.

Police confirmed they were called to Waterthorpe Greenway, near Asda Drakehouse, at around 2.45pm today to reports of a collision involving a child.

A police spokeswoman said a child had been taken to hospital but their injuries were not believed to be serious.

She was unable to provide further details as she said officers were still dealing with the incident.
