This is the scene on one of Sheffield’s busiest roads today, after a burst water main forced its closure.

Our video shows the scene of the incident, where workmen are currently on site to fix to water main.

Sheffield Road, Tinsley, is closed close to the IKEA store, and traffic jams can be seen to extend from the scene as cars are diverted.

Vehicles are being diverted off Sheffield Road, onto the ring road.

Yorkshire Water said earlier today that the road would closed throughout today, and that there would be a meeting tomorrow to decide what would happen next.

Officials say that both carriageways have been damaged as a result of the burst.

The burst was first reported late on Tuesday night.
