Updates welcomed after Sheffield councillor slams closure of bus stops at Atkinsons
The stops outside the department store are suspended
A councillor has welcomed efforts to update passengers after bus stops outside Atkinsons were closed for bike lane building works.
Barbara Masters said transport bosses had provided a map, new signs and asked operators to remind drivers about the change.

The stops outside the department store are suspended due to roadworks on Charter Row set to last until the end of June 2027.
Previously Coun Masters said it wasn’t clear to passengers that they were closed, or the alternatives.
The buses are run by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. In a response to Coun Masters it said that at least one of the notices had slipped down the frame, making it difficult for passengers to read, “which clearly won't have helped matters.”

Coun Masters said: “I checked and the changes to signage are in place and the placing of the barriers is better. I think the map is particularly useful so I’m pleased that was taken on board.”
