Traffic misery for Sheffield commuters as tram train suspended 'until further notice'

Stagecoach Supertram has announced that the tram train service is suspended until further notice.

The whole tram train network will remain out of action due to overhead power issues on the lines.

Tram train services were suspended during the weekend due to power and vehicle issues, however yesterday (December 1) Stagecoach tweeted that they expected full service to resume today.

However the problems have persisted, meaning that services are still unavailable.

If you have already bought a tram train ticket of any kind, it will be accepted on Northern Rail trains, First and Stagecoach buses.

This comes after another issue at the weekend the service was suspended between Sheffield and Rotherham due to an vehicle issue.

Trains at Rotherham Central station were also delayed over the weekend due to a broken down train.

The service was also suspended several times last month due to the floods st the station and due to damage caused to overhead power lines.
